WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : Why does your forecast vary so drastically from the one posted on another local station's website? For example their temps on Friday are forecast for a high of 38 low of 18. Yours are more than 10 degrees different for the high at 50 and a low of 24. How is one to plan anything in the Triangle with forecasts from two different local stations so drastically different?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : About 15 minutes ago (5:50 pm 1/23/2007) I saw a bright light streaking northward through the sky. The light had a greenish and orangish colored tail following behind it. Judging from my location (eastern Durham) and the direction of the light I would say that it landed somewhere north of the city. Did I most likely see a meteor? If not what else could the object have possibly been?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : Tonight, January 24, around 7:55PM, my daughter was traveling north on the Durham Freeway and noticed a slow streak of light in the NW sky. She said it was about 55-60 degrees above the horizon. At first she thought it was a shooting star, but it moved too slowly. As she watched, it brightened and then pieces shot off from the main center. All faded as they fell. Was anything reported as re-entering the atmosphere tonight or what is your thought on what she might have seen?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : It is 1:40 on thursday and it is snowing in Roanoke Rapids is it supposed to be or is this a fluke?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : Can you tell me the soil and air temps for Dec 2006 and Jan 2007? I can't find any station that continuously checks the soil temp.
