WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : My ears are not perfect anymore, but I often keep hearing your WRAL weather staff referred to in the recorded intros, and sometimes live comments as "meteologists", rather than "meteorologists". Are my ears deceiving me, or is this some new shorthand term?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : My husband is very interested in meteorology and reads several websites on the topic ..he wants to know more, like: it didn't rain but was suppose to what conditions factored that. Are there any books for amateurs on the subject OR any type of organizations etc. I'm trolling for Christmas gifts!
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : I think you've answered this before, but I can't find it in "Older Entries," and I forget the answer. When did the weather station at RDU start official weather reporting? Are there any other official weather records for Raleigh dating earlier than those reported by the weather station at RDU?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : What is the source of the RDU average rainfall as 39 inches...My google search found the following site (average from 1961-1990) that indicates an average closer to 44 inches... which would make our rainfall deficit and drought more severe. See http://www.ocs.orst.edu/pub/maps/Precipitation/Total/States/NC/nc.gif. Any clarification?
