Are my ears deceiving me, or is this some new shorthand term? WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : My husband is very interested in meteorology and reads several websites on the topic ..he wants to know more, like: it didn't rain but was suppose to what conditions factored that. Are there any books for amateurs on the subject OR any type of organizations etc. I'm trolling for Christmas gifts! Are there any other official weather records for Raleigh dating earlier than those reported by the weather station at RDU? WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : What is the source of the RDU average rainfall as 39 inches...My google search found the following site (average from 1961-1990) that indicates an average closer to 44 inches... which would make our rainfall deficit and drought more severe.
