WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : What was the average day time high for the month of August?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : I saw the 5'oclock news and Greg and Mike talk about cooler air coming in Wednesday limiting high temperatures below what we have been used to. Just how much hotter was this summer compared to previous ones? I mean I remember previous summers with a couple 100+ degree days, and quite a few 90+ degree days, just no where near as many as we had this summer. Do you have like a 30 year average or something you can compare the average temperature to through September 10th so far?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : I remember a movie a while back dealing with the subject of humans possibly altering the strength and/or path of a tropical storm by seeding or cooling the system. Is this thought scientifically possible or just for the movies?
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : Is the atmospheric pressure as reported over the TV the actual reading or is it somehow adjusted? For instance, the reported readings in Denver are in the same range as those here, but you have to boil things longer due to the lower pressure.
WRAL WeatherCenter Blog : We've been out of state for a week. Am I correct in believing that we broke the record for the most 90+ degree days?
