HB2
Discrimination has high price (Scranton Times-Tribune) -- The loss of the all-star extravaganza will cost Charlotte about $100 million in economic activity. That’s a high price for Mr. McCrory to impose on the city for their stunted political views.
All-star game’s loss shows HB2 is hurting N.C. (Wilson Times) -- Let’s get one thing out of the way: In crafting an expanded anti-discrimination ordinance back in February, the city of Charlotte did what more than 200 other U.S. cities and counties had already done.
McCrory, gop double down on HB2 (Rocky Mount Telegram) -- State-sanctioned discrimination allows a restaurant owner or motel manager to deny service to a gay couple – in the same way that blacks were denied such services during segregation – or for an employer to fire a worker simply because he finds out she is a lesbian. That’s what McCrory and GOP leaders apparently don’t understand.
NBA makes clear: we’re falling behind, N.C. (Charlotte Observer) -- Charlotte is not only losing the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, but we could lose more events because of HB2 and Pat McCrory.
Demonizing the NBA won't bring the money back (Fayetteville Observer) -- Is there a statesman in the house? Can we find a few grownups who can negotiate our way out of the mess we're in with House Bill 2?
