WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Durham woman found dead in her dorm room at Winston-Salem State University Wednesday died of an apparent heart deficiency.

WFMY News in Greensboro reports that Brittany Laquita Dennis, 20, was found in her bed by her roommate. There were no signs of foul play, and the cause of death was determined after an autopsy by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Dennis had undergone heart surgery as a young child, a university spokeswoman told WFMY.
