Traffic on Interstate 40 eastbound at South Saunders Street was nearly brought to a halt Monday evening after a multi-vehicle crash.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Traffic on Interstate 40 east at South Saunders Street was nearly brought to a halt Wednesday evening after a multi-vehicle crash.
The wreck involved at least three vehicles, two of them overturned, a witness said. The accident happened just before 7 p.m.
