FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One person was thrown from a vehicle during a Thursday morning wreck that shut down Rosehill Road, Fayetteville police said.

A Pontiac Grand-Am driven by Adda Ferguson Harris, 51, of 962 Domain Drive, ran a red light at the Country Club Drive intersection and collided with a GMC truck driven by James Albert Simmons, 53, of 8502 Deerfoot Drive in Linden, police said. The force of the collision caused both vehicles to strike a third vehicle sitting in the turn lane on Rosehill Road, police said.

Harris was airlifted to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and was listed in stable condition.

Simmons and the driver of the third vehicle, Jammie Yarnell Elliott, 23, of 1905 James Hammerley Way, were treated at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, police said.

Charges are pending against Harris in the wreck, police said.

Rosehill Road was closed between Country Club and Hilton drives for several hours.
