Wreck closes eastbound US 264 in eastern Wake County
Authorities shut down eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 264 between Raleigh and Knightdale early Wednesday after a wreck involving a cement truck and car.

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — Authorities shut down eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 264 between Raleigh and Knightdale early Wednesday after a wreck involving a cement truck and car.
The wreck happened at about 8:30 a.m. near Exit 422 (Hodge Road), according to the Department of Transportation. No information about the cause of the incident has been released, but the concrete truck was on its side on the shoulder of the highway and the car had damage on its rear bumper.
Two people were taken from the scene on stretchers.
No other information has been released. Drivers should avoid the area if possible.
