<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A wreck blocked traffic on Monday evening along Interstate 40 eastbound between Lake Wheeler Road and Gorman Street.

A vehicle hit another vehicle after the driver swerved to avoid a couch that was in the middle of the road, authorities said. One of the vehicles caught on fire after the collision.

One person was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic was backed up for nearly an hour while the crash was cleared.
