Worker injured in accident at State Archives dies
A state worker who was injured Monday when a piece of equipment fell on him outside the State Archives in downtown Raleigh has died, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

Two workers were setting up a scissor lift at about 9 a.m. when the lift toppled over and landed on Hal Rue, officials said.
Rue and the other man were working for the department's Facility Management Division and were working on exterior lighting at the archives building, at 109 E. Jones St., when the accident occurred.
Rue was taken to WakeMed, where he died Tuesday evening. Officials said Wednesday that Rue had served as an electrician for the state Department of Administration since September 2010.
"All employees of the North Carolina Department of Administration are saddened to hear of Hal Rue's death. He was a strong, dedicated and sincere man," Secretary of Administration Bill Daughtridge said in a statement. "Our deepest sympathies go out to his widow and family during this time. We ask folks to join us by keeping the Rue family in their thoughts and prayers."
State Capitol Police and the state Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Division are investigating the accident.
