Woman Reports Robbery, Assault

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police investigators are asking for information about a robbery and assault that occurred early Monday in a parking lot of an apartment complex on Winding Creek Circle.

A woman stopped her van in the parking lot between buildings 12 and 15 of The Landing Apartments around 4:30 a.m. and got in the back of the van to get an item. Three males approached her from behind, stuck an object to the back of her head and demanded money. When she told them she had no money, she was hit on the back of the head.

The three men then sexually assaulted her and fled with her keys.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. She was only able to provide a general description of one of the men who assaulted her.
