A Wayne County woman was killed Wednesday night in a shootout at a home in Dudley, authorities said Friday.

<b>DUDLEY, N.C.</b> — A Wayne County woman was killed Wednesday night in a shootout at a home in Dudley, authorities said Friday.

Deputies responded to a report or shots fired at 3479 Arrington Bridge Road and found Georgina Fajardo, 30, had been shot at least once. She was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where she died.

Investigators said an altercation occurred between the occupants of the home and people who stopped by there, and it escalated into gunfire. No other details were released.
