Woman killed in Johnston County crash
A woman died Monday afternoon in a crash on Elevation Road in Johnston County, according to the highway patrol.
Posted — UpdatedFOUR OAKS, N.C. — A woman died Monday afternoon in a crash on Elevation Road in Johnston County, according to the highway patrol.
Jennifer Wiggins, 39, of Four Oaks, was traveling southbound on Elevation Road when she ran off the road to the right and over-corrected into the path of an oncoming car. Wiggins died at the scene. Troopers said she was not wearing a seat belt.
The other driver, Leeann Vargas, 29, could not have stopped in time to avoid hitting Wiggins' car, troopers determined. No charges will be filed.
