Woman killed in I-40 wreck in Johnston County
The wreck involving a tractor-trailer and a vehicle occurred shortly before 9 a.m. near the N.C. 42 exit off I-40, authorities said.

Leydy Margarita Romero Hernandez, 23, of Apex, was eastbound on I-40 when she crossed the highway median and collided head-on with a westbound tractor-trailer, authorities said. She died at the scene. The truck driver wasn't injured.
Authorities said they don't believe speed or alcohol were factors in the wreck, which remains under investigation.
