Woman found shot at Rocky Mount Cook Out

A woman was shot at a Rocky Mount restaurant on Monday morning.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A woman was shot at a Rocky Mount restaurant on Monday morning.

Police found a 24-year-old woman had been shot at the Cook Out on North Wesleyan Boulevard around 3 a.m. The woman was taken to UNC Nash Healthcare, where she was treated and released for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Shell casings were located in the parking lot of Cook Out, leading police to suspect the shots were fired from a moving vehicle. Police believe the shooting wasn't random and the people involved know each other.

The case is being investigated.
