WILSONS MILLS, N.C. — An Alabama woman is missing after visiting the Triangle this week, authorities said Thursday.

Linda Wester, 71, drove to the Triangle this week to attend a funeral in Durham and was last seen leaving a friend's home in the Johnston County community of Wilson's Mills on Wednesday, authorities said.

When she didn't show up at her home in Alabama, her family contacted law enforcement.

Authorities said her rental car was returned to a lot in Smithfield overnight. She wasn't found at any area hospitals.

Anyone who has seen Wester is asked to call local law enforcement or the Johnston County 911 center at 919-934-9411.
