Durham police charged a driver early Thursday after she rear-ended an officer’s patrol vehicle.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police charged a driver early Thursday after she rear-ended an officer’s patrol vehicle.

Officer C.G. Wolfe was outside his patrol vehicle, investigating a crash, when a 2008 Hyundai driven by 24-year-old Sarah Houston smashed into the back of his 2007 Ford Crown Victoria, police said.

No one was injured, police said. The crash happened on Interstate 40 westbound near (Durham) Chapel Hill Boulevard.

Police charged Houston, of 701 Homestead Road, Apt 801, Chapel Hill, with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
