Woman charged in fatal Raleigh motorcycle wreck

Raleigh police have charged a 65-year-old woman in connection with a fatal motorcycle wreck that happened Monday afternoon near Cameron Village.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police have charged a 65-year-old woman in connection with a fatal motorcycle wreck that happened Monday afternoon near Cameron Village.

According to investigators, Ernestine Leach, of Raleigh, was turning left from Clark Avenue to Daniels Street at about 3:30 p.m. and hit a motorcycle driven by 22-year-old De'Andre Jamar Jackson.

Jackson was taken to WakeMed, where he later died. Leach and two passengers inside her 1998 Lexus LS400 were not injured.

Leach is charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, police said.

An investigation of the wreck is ongoing.
