FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville woman was charged Friday in a crash last weekend that killed a Fort Bragg man, police said.

Choconda Ayanakiel Martin, 32, of Hazelhurst Drive in Fayetteville, was charged with felony hit and run, involuntary manslaughter and driving with a revoked license. She was being held in the Cumberland County jail under a $30,000 bond.

Eric Christian, 25, died when his car ran off Cliffdale Road near Reilly Road late Saturday and hit a utility pole.

Police initially thought it was a single-vehicle wreck, but they determined after further investigation that Martin and Christian were speeding on Cliffdale Road and collided, forcing Christian's car off the road. Investigators said Martin stopped after the crash but then got back into her car and drove off before officers arrived.
