Wilmington man charged in Chatham County rape

MONCURE, N.C. — Chatham County sheriff's deputies have arrested a Wilmington man on charges of rape and kidnapping after he allegedly forced his way early Sunday into the home of a woman he knows.

Investigators said Tuesday that Jesus Narciso Alvarez-Alba, 31, was charged with second-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping, domestic criminal trespassing and violation of a court order.

He was jailed under a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on July 29.
