<b>ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.</b> — A Rocky Mount woman found dead late Tuesday had been suffocated, police said Friday.

Officers found June Joyner Brown dead in her home, at 108 Falcon Road, and her husband, Joe Clyde Brown Sr., had to be taken to the hospital with several cuts.

Joe Brown was listed in fair condition Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital, in Greenville.

Police have described him as a suspect in his wife's death, but no charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.
