I've got a CD hand-delivered to me by Little Anthony of the Imperials to the blogger with the most interesting weekend plans.
Personally, I've got a book signing and performance tonight in Chapel Hill at Carol Woods and then a trip to the mountains later in the weekend to beat the heat.
Statewide there is a plethora of activities. It's one of the busiest weekends of the year in NC.
I'm intrigued by the Candlelight Ghost Tours in Wilkesboro. Black Mountain boasts the popular Sourwood Festival this weekend. Valdese in the Foothills will be festive with the Waldensian crafts show. I'd like the check out the Dan River Boat Race in Mayodan. Closer to home here in the Triangle, Debbie Elam and company will put on another fine show at Johnston County Community College - Let our Spirit Sing. The Clayton Center has performances of a calypso-flavored play. A fine arts festival begins this weekend in Southern Pines. A pirate invasion is scheduled along the coast at Beaufort.
