Here are my weekly grocery and drug store shopping totals for the week ending 10/15. They include how much I would have spent without sales and coupons, how much I saved and how much I actually spent. How did you do this week?

Subtotal before sales and coupons: $360.90
Total saved: $276.22
Total paid: $84.68
% Saved: 76%!

My weekly budget is $80/week and I spent $84.68 so a little over budget for the week. I am still within the monthly budget, though, because I spent so little 2 weeks ago.

Hey - tell me again why I have to stay within a budget to make ends meet but the entire government is somehow exempt from the same level of basic financial responsibility when they spend my money? Oh, sorry - that rant is probably better suited for another blog. :-)

Thankfully, no interventions were required for my husband and daughter this week as they had no unaccompanied grocery store outings.

Last week I shopped at Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, CVS, and Food lion.

How did you do last week?

To figure out the percentage you saved:

Take the total amount saved divided by the total cost of the products before sales and coupons.

How did you do this week?
