Weekend best bets: Shen Yun, Big Cahoot

RALEIGH, N.C. — Lots going on this weekend. Here are our picks:

Steep Canyon Rangers - The Grammy award winning band plays tracks from its new album, Radio, at Lincoln Theatre in downtown Raleigh tonight. Tickets are $18. NOTE: This show has been rescheduled to March 19.

Night of Bowie - The Pour House in downtown Raleigh hosts a concert Saturday night to remember later singer David Bowie. There will be local musicians playing Bowie songs, videos and a screening of the 1976 Sci-fi classic, The Man Who Fell to Earth," which started Bowie. Admission is free, but it is a fundraiser for Keep a Child Alive, a nonprofit that combats the physical, social and economic impacts of HIV.

Ani DiFranco - The singer, songwriter plays Lincoln Theatre in downtown Raleigh Saturday night. NOTE: This show has been rescheduled to Sunday, Jan. 24.

Band Together Big Cahoot - Band Together NC hosts this concert Saturday night at City Limits in Raleigh. Laura Reed will perform, as well as The Balsa Gliders and Kate Rhudy. General admission tickets are $10. VIP tickets, which also include three drinks, dinner, early admission and an Uber credit, are $100.

NC Symphony - The symphony celebrates Rodgers and Hammerstein Friday and Saturday at Meymandi Concert Hall.

Black Violin - This classically trained south Florida twosome performs a blend of classical, hip-hop, rock, R&B and even bluegrass. See them Friday night at Carolina Theatre of Durham.

Indigo Girls - This American folk rock duo plays Carolina Theatre of Durham Sunday night.

Melissa Aldana - This award-winning Chilean saxophonist plays UNC Memorial Hall Friday night.

A Cappella Jam - High school and college a cappella groups from throughout the Triangle will play this event Saturday night at Carolina Theatre of Durham. General admission tickets are $12.

Matilda the Musical - This Tony Award-winning production plays DPAC through Sunday. The show tells the story of an extraordinary girl who dreams of a better life. Armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, Matilda dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Shen Yun - This spectacular stage show transports you to China with live music, artistry and dance. The show runs Saturday and Sunday at Raleigh Memorial Hall. Tickets start at $56.

Jamie Kennedy - The comic best known for his sketch show "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" and for starring in the first two "Scream" movies plays Goodnights Comedy Club Thursday through Saturday.

Forbidden Broadway - This hilarious show targets some classic Broadway shows, including Pippin, Kinky Boots and Matilda. Show is Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Cary Arts Center.

Atlantic Brew Supply Winter Festival - Head to Raleigh Brewing on Saturday for this day-long event featuring the finals of the Carolina Quarterly Brew Off, in addition to tours and samples.

Durham Central Park Winter Rodeo - The first food truck rodeo of the year at Durham Central Park is Sunday. More than 50 trucks will be serving. There will also be live music and craft beer. The fun is noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free. NOTE: This event has been moved to Sunday, Jan. 31.

Brueprint Beer Dinner - Plates on Glenwood Avenue is hosting a beer dinner Sunday night featuring brews from Apex brewery Brueprint. Tickets are $59 per person.

Oyster Roast - The Durham Co-op Market is hosting an oyster roast Friday night from 5-7 p.m. Tickets are $9.
