Weekend Best Bets: Komen, food truck rodeo

Food trucks, movies and music are all happening this weekend in the Triangle.

RALEIGH, N.C. — There are events in every part of the day for every interest this weekend in the Triangle!
Start your weekend right with "Back to the Future," this week's feature in the Downtown Raleigh Movie Series. Movies are screen outdoors at City Plaza Friday starting at 6 p.m.
If you are looking for a more mellow way to ease into your weekend, head to Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary where NC Symphony Summerfest - The symphony's summerfest continues with White Nights: Russian Festival. There are shows both Friday and Saturday nights. Selections will include work from Russian composers. Tickets start at $15 in advance.
Need something to look at with your music? Shen Wei Dance Arts - Known for their rich, imaginative choreography, this company fuses dance, theater and Chinese opera. They will be playing DPAC Thursday through Saturday nights.
Pair your Saturday morning workout with a good cause, giveaways and thousands of your closest friends at the Komen Race for the Cure at Meredith College in Raleigh. Warm up with Zumba at 7:30 a.m. The competitive and recreational 5K races start at 8 a.m. There is also a children's dash, a women's-only 5K and a survivor celebration.
By Sunday, you'll be hungry from your busy weekend, so be sure to stop by the Downtown Raleigh food truck rodeo. More than 50 food trucks will be selling their delicious cuisine! The event is from 1-6 p.m. along Fayetteville Street.
Take your treats to the NC Museum of History where Two of a Kind - Bill Myers and Dick Knight, members of the renowned NC jazz band The Monitors, will close out the Music of the Carolinas series. The show is Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are free and will be distributed starting at 2 p.m. It is general admission.
Rock with the kids Sunday evening when the Kidz Bop concert plays Carolina Theatre of Durham at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Tickets start at $27.
