Weekend Best Bets: First Friday, theater

Help start off 2015 right with our picks for the weekend, which include America's Got Talent's Taylor Williamson, and the NC Symphony's "Peter and the Wolf."

RALEIGH, N.C. — We have just entered 2015 and it is already time for First Friday in downtown Raleigh. Check out our guide to find out what is going on and what deals are being offered by participating venues.

Other events: 

The North Carolina Symphony and the Triangle Youth Ballet will bring the story of "Peter and the Wolf" to life on Saturday at Meymandi Concert Hall. Shows are at 1 and 4 p.m. There will be some free pre-concert activities including face painting. Tickets to the show are $31. 
America's Got Talent runner-up Taylor Williamson plays Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh this Friday and Saturday. His 7:30 p.m. show on Friday is open to all-ages.
The Blues & The Blues presented by NC Freshcatch will feature life music, craft beer and fresh seafood. The event is Friday from 6-11 p.m. at the Durham Armory. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Food is not included the in admission price.
Take in some hockey this weekend. The Carolina Hurricanes host the Boston Bruins on Sunday at 1 p.m.
