It will be moving from the north to the north northeast at 1049 and you'll have two minutes to view the International Space Station as it passes overhead a little lower on the horizon today. But we'll have mostly clear skies should be really comfortable to check it out outside tomorrow. It's going to be an absolutely gorgeous day. Temperatures are in the lower sixties in the morning warming up to 74 by 10 a.m. eighties by lunchtime, upper eighties for highs. So it is going to be hotter during the afternoon. However, it's not going to be all that humid, so it's still going to be feeling pretty good, especially if you're in the shade. 89 s are high tomorrow and that's what it's going to feel like, but it gets more humid later this week, 92 on Thursday with a heat index of 95 eighties for the forecast Friday and Saturday. But the heat index is going to be in the nineties and that's going to last in early next week as well. We have a more humid pattern setting up for the weekend, but also a wetter weather pattern. We've got storm chances climbing beginning Thursday night. But Friday, Saturday afternoons and evenings, we've got scattered storms and that forecast will continue into Memorial Day as well. Friday. If you are traveling across North Carolina, your best bet if you're traveling to the mountains would be to leave in the morning. And your best bet if you're traveling to the coast would be to leave during the early no, or maybe lunchtime if possible, but I don't think it's going to rain your whole drive to either destination. These are going to be scattered summertime storms, but there could be some pretty heavy rain. So keep that in mind and you can check in on WRL news before you leave satellite and radar showing as potent storm system moving through parts of the Midwest. We're going to see another area of low pressure spin up and drag a cold front our way as we get into the end of the week and it's that same front that stalls were dry Wednesday. But as we get into Thursday night, we could see some scattered storms return Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, we all have a chance of seeing some scattered storms mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. These are going to be hit and miss. So it's not a wash out. There will be some sunshine each day. Your best bet for any outdoor plans. It's gonna be to do them as early as possible. It's a pretty hot week. We've got two days in the nineties coming up on this seven day forecast and three days with highs coming awfully close to 90.

Tuesday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the upper 50s to near 60. Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy and not as warm. Showers are possible late Wednesday into early Thursday.

“As our next weather system approaches, we may see a sprinkle or light shower develop in spots, with a very slight chance of a thundershower,” WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said. “Winds will switch to a northeasterly direction, and that will help to keep temperatures a bit cooler as well, with highs in the mid 70s north to low 80s south.”

Friday will be mostly sunny and cooler, and the weekend “looks beautiful,” according to Gardner.
