Maze: Wintry precipitation possible this weekend
It's hard to say just whether the Triangle will see snow, rain or nothing at all this weekend, WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said Tuesday afternoon.

“It looks pretty promising that a lot of the area could see some snow early Saturday and into the afternoon," he said.
Tuesday was mostly sunny, windy and colder, with a high temperature of about 50 degrees across central North Carolina.
"High pressure built into the region, making it a much colder than what we had on Monday," WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said. "For the next few days, we will have high pressure as our main weather feature, which will ensure dry and bright weather."
Wednesday will be mostly sunny and cool, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Thursday will be a warmer, with temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s.
The significant change would come Friday, as a storm system moves into the Carolinas from the Deep South, Maze said. Colder air arrives first, followed by an area of moisture that could bring wintry precipitation.
"If the cold air continues to move in as the system arrives, then we could be looking at a significant snow for parts of North Carolina,” Maze said.
The moisture stays in the forecast through midday Saturday, and the forecast calls for a high temperatures only in the 30s both Friday and Saturday.
