RALEIGH, N.C. — Frost will be possible throughout the Triangle early Friday morning as dry air allows temperatures to fall into the mid-30s in many locations.
A frost advisory is in effect from 4 to 9 a.m. for 20 counties, including Wake, Durham and Orange.

The frost is not expected to be widespread and will be “isolated to areas where wind is calmer overnight,” WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.

Sensitive outdoor plants should be covered in preparation for the possible frost, WRAL meteorologist Nate Johnson said.

On Friday, temperatures are expected to reach the upper 50s under sunny skies. Friday night could be the coldest night so far this season as temperatures dip into the low 30s.

A widespread frost and possible freeze could happen early Saturday, WRAL chief meteorologist Greg Fishel said.

After cooler temperatures, things are expected to heat up this week with highs expected in the 70s on Sunday and Monday.
