RALEIGH, N.C. — Another round of isolated thunderstorms moved across central North Carolina prompting warnings Wednesday afternoon.

Several counties, including Durham and Orange, were placed under severe thunderstorm warnings as weather capable of producing hail and lightning passed through.

WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said the storms should taper off into the evening. Counties that border southern Virginia may see rain overnight from a cold front.

The chance of rain was expected to increase Thursday and Friday.
