RALEIGH, N.C. — A low-pressure system riding along the frontal boundary delivered rain late Monday across central North Carolina. The showers could linger for a while into Tuesday morning, then the chance for rain shifts to the south and east of the Triangle.

"And then another low rides through on Wednesday, which will also give us another chance for storms," WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said. "Then, finally, our weather should calm down."

The forecast for the latter half of the week predicts more sun and a lesser chance of rain, although highs in the 80s remain above normal.
