Bright, beautiful but still 'brrr' outside
The workweek dawned bright, mostly clear and a little nippy across Carolina, and below-normal temperatures were on the menu for Tuesday as well.

The National Weather Service reported temperatures ranging from 16 in Jefferson in the northwest to 32 in Manteo and Cape Hatteras on Monday morning. It was breezy, which made it feel colder.
Monday's high in the Triangle was only about 45, low for this time of year, Gardner said. Northerly winds driven by a large high-pressure system in the Midwest and its clockwise circulation are responsible, Gardner explained.
Later in the week will be warmer, with a forecast for Friday of 64 degrees in the Triangle, but spring it is not. And, it will be short-lived.
"It's not going to be anything terribly exciting if you're hoping for some really warm weather," Gardner said. Later in the week will be warmer, but "it looks like we may get another shot of cold air over the weekend."
