RALEIGH, N.C. — A storm system will move through the Triangle Wednesday night. Rain is expected in the late evening and early morning hours Thursday.

"It looks like things are going to stay fairly cloudy but it does not look like we are going to get the really heavy rain that people will get in areas to our south, like South Carolina and Georgia," WRAL's Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel said.

Temperatures Thursday will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. The rain is expected to linger in the afternoon with shattered showers also possible in the evening hours.

Friday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a slight chance or rain.

"Over the weekend, an area of high pressure will bring dryer air down and that should reduce our chance or rain and make it pretty toasty," Fishel said.

Weekend temperatures should be in the mid to upper 70s, with next week warming up to the mid 80s.
