Scattered Storms Expected Tuesday Afternoon, Evening

RALEIGH, N.C. — Scattered strong thunderstorms began moving across parts of the region early Tuesday afternoon and are expected through the evening hours.

) Penny-sized hail has been reported in Raleigh and in Franklin County.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms are expected in the eastern part of central North Carolina through the early evening, with small hail and the possibility of locally torrential rainfall.
