RALEIGH, N.C. — Temperatures are expected to drop into the low to mid-30s Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Tuesday night for areas north and west of the Triangle. A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. Those conditions can kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
A frost advisory will be in effect south and east of the Triangle. A frost advisory means that areas of frost are expected. According to the National Weather Service, the risk of frost will be greatest in rural, low-lying and sheltered areas.
On Wednesday, temperatures are expected to warm up, with highs in the mid-50s.
