RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina is facing the start of spring with the appropriate weather: a long stretch of days with partly cloudy skies, pleasant temperatures and a chance of scattered showers.

Spotty showers and storms mixed with thick fog and low clouds Monday morning. There's a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms popping up in the late afternoon and evening.

The same rain pattern continues for most of the seven-day forecast.

"We've got a moist, low-level air mass that may keep a couple showers or storms going each day here," WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said.

This week, only Thursday and Friday lack a shot at storms.

Temperatures will stay warm and above normal for that same period. Highs will range from the mid to upper 70s, with lows in the 50s.

The first official day of spring is Tuesday. Temperatures normally hit daily highs in the mid 60s and lows in the 40s this time of year.
