This might be a crazy question but I want to know. I hear Greg and Mike talking about pressure 29. somthing is on the rise, What does this mean? Thank You!!!

MIKE MOSS SAYS:     Roxanna,     That would usually occur when mentioning the current observation at the RDU airport. The 29 point something or 30 point something refers more or less to the sea level value of atmospheric pressure, given in inches of mercury, and whether that pressure reading is steady, falling or rising. While there isn't always a perfect correlation, most of the time if pressure is rising relatively fair weather is underway or moving in, while lowering pressure, especially if it is falling rapidly, often indicates unsettled or stormy conditions.
