Is there any place on the east coast that one could go to get away from the severe storms that are predicted for Saturday night and Sunday morning early (April 14, 15)?

MIKE MOSS SAYS:   Linda,   At this time it appears the risk of severe thunderstorms with the system moving through Saturday night and Sunday will extend from southeastern Virgina across central and eastern NC and southward to the Gulf Coast. Areas north and west of that region are unlikely to see any severe storms, and even within that zone the risk of a severe event at any given location is very slight, apart from a somewhat increased risk across southern Albama, Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle. Note that while the risk of thunderstorm wind gusts, tornadoes and hail will be even lower to our north, there will be a major Nor'easter brewing for the MId-Atlantic and New England states later tomorrow into the first day or two of next week, with high seas, erosion and heavy rain near the coast and quite possible a very significant snow storm in a swath stretching from northern West Virginia up through Pennsylvania and on into Maine.
