Wayne County man hit, killed on highway
A Wayne County man died Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle along U.S. Highway 117 Alternate south of Goldsboro, authorities said.
Posted — UpdatedDUDLEY, N.C. — A Wayne County man died Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle along U.S. Highway 117 Alternate south of Goldsboro, authorities said.
Wilbert Filmore Jones, 71, stepped in front a 1996 Buick northbound of U.S. 117 Alternate, near Outlaw Road in Brogden, state troopers said. Jones' body was sent a medical examiner for an autopsy.
The Oldsmobile driver will not be charged, troopers said.
