<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Raleigh police closed Tryon Road early Saturday morning between Lake Wheeler Road and Fairway Drive after a 12-inch water main ruptured. 

The pipe broke just before 7 a.m. Saturday, authorities said, and repair crews were called to the scene shortly after.

Raleigh police were diverting traffic onto Carolina Pines Avenue Saturday morning and said that crews could be on scene throughout the day fixing the ruptured pipe.
