Garner hit-and-run
GARNER, N.C. — Search warrants returned last week link a driver for Raleigh City Cab Service to the hit-and-run death of a 22-year-old woman earlier this month.
The body of Kayla Dion Higgins, was found Feb. 8 at about 8 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Highway 70 business and Yeargan Road, but police believe she was hit and killed the night before.

The investigation took them to Mohamed Sawih Dwedari, of 7501 Trudy Lane in Garner, who drives his 2005 Dodge Caravan for Raleigh City Cab Service.

Dwedari reported being in an accident at the time and place of Higgins' death, and police believe he must have had a cell phone or other communication device in the car at the time.

"It is reasonable to believe that his electronic device will contain information about Mr. Dwedari's prior to, during and after the collision," officers wrote in asking for the search warrant.

The initial report on Higgins' death indicated that police were looking for a minivan with damage to the front or right side.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call police.
