Warm streak continues, skies clear Tuesday

RALEIGH, N.C. — The clouds cleared out making way for a bright sunshine and another day with temperatures in the 70s Tuesday.
"It will be less humid but still unseasonably mild," said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
The "cold front" that crossed the state Monday evening did little to change the temperature.
"We'll see more warm weather today and tomorrow," Gardner said. "Highs will be 15 to 20 degrees above normal."
The record high temperature for Dec. 15 is 75 degrees, reached in 1971. The normal high for the date is 53.
The warm trend continues through Thursday, when the next front arrives.
"That will bring an all-day rain with totals of an inch or more possible," Gardner said.
Skies will clear but temperatures turn colder for the weekend.
Friday's high is 54 degrees in Raleigh, and Saturday could see an overnight freeze and daytime temperatures in the 40s.
