<b>CARTHAGE, N.C.</b> — Authorities are searching for a man who fled from an interview room at the Moore County Sheriff’s Office in Carthage on Thursday.

Sheriff Neil Godfrey said Kevin Wesley Sheffield, 27, walked out of an unlocked interview room about 12:30 p.m. He is wanted in connection with a break-in at a convenience store and several vehicles.

Sheffield is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and gray socks.

Deputies have obtained a warrant for his arrest.
