FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff's deputies were searching along Cross Creek Wednesday afternoon for a man who fled, stripping off his clothes as he went, from the Cumberland County Courthouse.
According to the sheriff’s office, Jacquail Amear Clemmons, 19, was so distraught to learn that his bond would be revoked on a charge of breaking and entering that he ran from the courthouse and into the woods near Cross Creek. Deputies found his pants on the bank of the creek.

They told the Fayetteville Observer that Clemmons was quickly swept away by the current and could be in danger.

Anyone who has sees Clemmons is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-677-5432.

Authorities warn that Clemmons should be considered dangerous and could be carrying a weapon.
