Wake Tech Board of Trustees Takes Up Policy on Illegal Immigrants

The Wake Tech Board of Trustees talked Tuesday about illegal immigrants at community colleges.

A new policy states community colleges must accept illegal immigrants if they meet admission guidelines.

Previously, colleges had the option of rejecting them.

Wake Tech President Stephen Scott told the board that the school will comply with the new rules.

At this point, college leaders said it does not appear any illegal immigrants have taken advantage of the new policy.
