WAKE FOREST, N.C. — The Raleigh City Council on Tuesday approved a study of extending water and sewer service into Franklin County.

The extension is needed for Wake Forest to complete an annexation agreement with Youngsville. Wake Forest buys water from Raleigh and uses the city's wastewater treatment facilities.

Officials from Raleigh and Wake Forest will soon begin discussing details of a possible extension.
