RALEIGH, N.C. — Wade Avenue reopened Wednesday morning after crews repaired an 8-inch sewer main, Raleigh officials said.

The work began at midnight between the 2800 and 3100 blocks of Wade Avenue and was completed by 10:45 a.m., officials said.

The closure required detours on Dixie Trail and Brooks Avenue to Hillsborough Street.

The repairs also include flushing the sewer main, but officials said service for nearby customers shouldn't be interrupted.
