Wachovia in west Raleigh robbed

Police said it happened at the branch at 4530 Western Blvd. at about 11:30 a.m., and there was no indication that a weapon had been involved.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police were investigating a bank robbery at a Wachovia bank on Thursday morning.

Police said a white woman who appeared to be in her mid- to late-20s passed a note to a teller at the branch at 4530 Western Blvd. at about 11:30 a.m.

There was no indication that a weapon had been involved.

Witnesses said the woman was wearing a green, hooded sweatshirt, black hat, light pants and dark sunglasses with gold trim.

Raleigh police said the woman is also a suspect in several other robberies in the Wilmington area.
