FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Two civilians were killed Tuesday in a three-vehicle crash on Fort Bragg, post officials said Wednesday.

The crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. on Vass Road, near Gravel Pit Road.

Officials said Debro F. Snow, 28, of Fayetteville, was driving westbound on Vass Road when he tried to pass and hit an eastbound vehicle head-on. The two vehicles were then struck by a tractor-trailer, and the impact split the passenger vehicles in half, authorities said.

Snow was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle he struck, David McMillan, 84, of Fayetteville, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died.

The truck driver was unhurt.

Vass Road, also known as Lobelia Road and N.C. Highway 690, passes through part of Fort Bragg’s Northern Training Area.
