FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — WRAL-TV and UNC-EX will broadcast the 2013 Fayetteville Veterans Day Parade presented by the Cumberland County Veterans Council and the City of Fayetteville live on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. It will be available on WRAL-TV, WRAL.com and via the WRAL Mobile apps for iPhone and Android.

WRAL anchors Bill Leslie and Michelle Marsh, along with Fayetteville reporter Bryan Mims will host the broadcast from historic downtown Fayetteville.

The parade begins at the intersection of Hay Street and Bragg Boulevard, and participants march east on Hay Street past the reviewing stand at Ray Avenue.

This year’s parade will recognize the 60th anniversary of the Korean War and honor the many heroes of that “forgotten war.” Korean War veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Corporal Rodolfo (Rudy) Hernandez will serve as Grand Marshal. SGM (RET) Jacob G. Roth, Jr., a prisoner of war during the Korean War, serves as Honorary Parade Chair.

More than 100 units are expected to participate in the parade, including veterans’ organizations, local bands, high school and university ROTC programs, and representatives from Fort Bragg and Pope Field.
